Although the Chew Crew goats will do much of the hard work required to removing invasive plants and bring them under control, they will need some human assistance. We welcome volunteer help. You can find out about Chew Crew volunteer opportunities through Facebook, the UGA Office of Sustainability website, or by signing up for our email listserv.
We also need help raising the funds that will be necessary to deal effectively with invasive species and stormwater management at Driftmier Woods. Tax-deductible contributions may be made to the University of Georgia Foundation, which supports the Chew Crew through the College of Environment and Design’s Public Service and Outreach Fund. If you are interested in donating to the fund, you may do so through the UGA Foundation website, or by sending a check to the foundation.
Check out our volunteer calendar, sign up for out email updates, and follow us on social media to keep up with the herd! During the regular school year, we aim to have at least one workday per week.
Please wear closed toed shoes and something you don’t mind getting a little dirty if you decide to volunteer with us! Bug spray will be provided but long pants are strongly encouraged.
